Disaster Help
By now, we are all aware of the disastrous tornadoes that swept through numerous states on December 10/11. At this writing, over 90 people are reported dead across 5 states with more than 80 of those in Kentucky.
Hundreds of homes, businesses and churches were destroyed. Hundreds of thousands of people were without electricity. Lutheran Disaster Response is collaborating with the Indian-Kentucky Synod and other partners in the area to assess the damage. The recovery process will likely take years. Lutheran Disaster Response will be part of this long recovery.
If you wish to give a donataion, you can make a check out to Faith Lutheran Church, mark the envelope “DISASTER RESPONSE,” and place it in the offering or mail it to the church office.
If you prefer to give directly, make a check out to Lutheran Disaster Response and send it to P O Box 1809, Merrifield, VA 22116-8009. BE SURE to write “US Tornadoes” on the memo line.
Church Council has allocated $1,250 from the Thrivent Choice Fund for immediate assistance.
